Franeen McDonald holds a BA degree in Psychology and Social Sciences, a Certificate in Child- and Play Therapy,
a Certificate in Family and Divorce Mediation and a Certificate in Neuro Linguistic Programming, Time Line Therapy ™
and Hypnosis. She did various post graduate courses in Child and Family Counselling and engages in Continued Professional
Development.
Franeen is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling
and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and adhere to their code of ethics and practice. She is also a full member of Counselling Children
and Young People (CCYP) and an associate member of the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT). She is also a member
of the American Boards of Neuro Linguistic Programming (ABNLP), Hypnotherapy (ABH) and the Time Line Therapy(TM) Association
(TLTATM).
Franeen has an advanced CRB check, trained to work with child protection issues and is registered with
the General Social Care Council (GSCC).
She has experience in counselling children
and families since 1986 and has worked in a variety of medical, voluntary and local authority sectors. She has set up her
Child and Family Counselling Practice, AchievingGoals…Now!, in 2005. Prior to this she had her own very successful
private Practice as a Family Coach and Child- & Play Therapist in South Africa. She currently not only sees many private
clients for counselling at her office in Cheltenham, but also consults at various schools in Gloucestershire where she does
child and teenage counselling. Due to the high demand by parents, Franeen now also sees adults in therapy.
